What experience have you had whilst working with Stopford?
• Interpreting single line diagram, loop diagram and block cable diagram red line mark ups and carrying out the necessary changes using the AutoCAD software package. • Responsible for checking several EC&I drawings, instrument schedule, cable schedule and panel general arrangement drawings. • Responsible for underpinning the key requirements for the design of a low voltage switchroom and medium voltage switchroom. • Participated in several supplier discussions in relation to the design and configuration of control and electrical distribution systems.

Since joining Stopford I have taken ownership of several important deliverables which has enabled me to develop my technical ability within the chosen discipline and working relationships with team members and key stakeholders.

What experience have you had whilst working with Stopford?
Varied projects doing process design, feasibility studies and safety studies. In the last six years work has concentrated more on doing fire assessments for petrol terminals and specifying fire protection equipment. Spent five years in a fine chemicals plant doing plant support and process sitings. This involved production of safety and environmental studies, IPP application, process and product validation and plant commissioning.

What CPD have you done since being at Stopford?
Completion of module Fire Risk assessment & Management and assisted a course in Fire Safety Design part of an MSc on Fire & Explosion Engineering by Leeds University. Attendance to various safety courses imparted by Zeneca Hazards Group

This has mainly consisted of participation in internal management courses and lunchtime presentations of products and services from within the civil engineering industry. I regularly attend ICE talks.

Stopford Energy and Environment is seeking an Environmental Consultant with a specialism in either Flooding and Drainage or Phase 2 Contaminated Land Assessments. Experience of Hydrogeological and Groundwater Risk Assessments would be beneficial. As an Environmental Consultant, you will be reporting to the Principal Consultant and will have a minimum of three years’ experience in an environmental consultancy. You will be educated to at least degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. chemical and physical sciences; engineering; environmental and earth sciences, environmental management, etc.) and will be required to work across a range of sectors. Knowledge of modelling software and membership of a professional body are desirable.

Stopford Energy and Environment is seeking to recruit a senior environmental permitting consultant. The successful applicant will be joining an established and successful team of environmental consultants and engineers delivering turnkey solutions to industry. Specifically, you will be preparing and managing regulatory applications to support the development of predominantly energy from biomass and waste schemes. Experience in permitting for advanced thermal conversion installations and anaerobic digestion plants would be particularly beneficial.

Your day to day responsibilities will include the preparation of environmental permits and providing support on planning applications. Depending on your skills, experience and interests there will also be opportunities to work across a range of related technical, scientific, environmental or engineering disciplines, including EIA studies, risk assessments, process design and site investigation.

The position is multidisciplinary, and we will consider candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds. Applicants should have a relevant first degree along with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of supporting planning and permitting applications.

You will ideally hold Chartered status or membership of a relevant scientific or engineering professional institution.
