What experience have you had whilst working with Stopford?
Structural design of a large number of foundations and containment structures for existing and new build petrochemical installations. Structural analysis of existing structures in the chemical, petrochemical and water industry and designed new and remedial works. Also worked on land reclamation and waste to energy projects.

What CPD have you done since being at Stopford?
This has mainly consisted of participation in internal management courses and lunchtime presentations of products and services from within the civil engineering industry. I regularly attend ICE talks.

Fast pace activities with time spent working abroad with designers and manufacturers.

What experience have you had whilst working with Stopford?
• Interpreting single line diagram, loop diagram and block cable diagram red line mark ups and carrying out the necessary changes using the AutoCAD software package. • Responsible for checking several EC&I drawings, instrument schedule, cable schedule and panel general arrangement drawings. • Responsible for underpinning the key requirements for the design of a low voltage switchroom and medium voltage switchroom. • Participated in several supplier discussions in relation to the design and configuration of control and electrical distribution systems.

Since joining Stopford I have taken ownership of several important deliverables which has enabled me to develop my technical ability within the chosen discipline and working relationships with team members and key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be expected to take on a lead role within the Process Team, including:

Your profile

Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering and ideally a chartered member of IChemE. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Chemical Engineering design (at least 10 years), supplemented by some operational experience – preferably in one or more of the following sectors: fine chemicals, water, energy or petrochemicals

The candidate should be able to demonstrate projects where they have acted in a lead design role, ideally across a wide range of unit operations. The candidate should be able to give examples of managing process studies – such as HAZOP chair, preparation of technical reports or running risk review sessions (e.g. LOPA / DSEAR).

The preparation of written reports and delivery of technical presentations is a key part of the role. The candidate must have a good command of written and spoken English.

 

Personal Attributes

The candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The role will include working with clients to understand their requirements, develop scopes of work and to provide them with process engineering solutions.
